PATHOGENS:
A pathogen is a bacterium, virus or other microorganism that can cause a disease. Basically it is anything that can cause sickness or disease to its host.
BACTERIA:
Bacteria is a microscopic living organism that can be found absolutely everywhere! There are some that can be dangerous and harmful to us humans like the ones that cause us infection. However, there are some that can be beneficial like the ones that help make yogurt, the ones that help our bodies digestion and the ones that help with nitrogen fixation. We are going to talk about the bacteria that can be harmful to us humans. These bacteria can enter through broken skin, your nose or mouth. Once inside you these bacterial start doubling. The more bacteria the sicker you get. When the white blood cells see a bacteria they 'call' the antibodies and they kill it. Sometimes when you have a bacterial infection you can get a fever, the high temperature kills off some of the bacteria so even though it might not feel like it is doing you any good it really is. Unlike viruses bacterial infections can be cured with antibiotics, capsules or injections.
VIRUSES:
A virus is a microscopic infectious agent that replicates inside a living organism. Viruses consist of an outer cover called the capsid and inside the virus is the nucleic acid. Viruses can be the reason you to have an illness disease. However, viruses don't cause diseases every time they enter your body but when they do viruses first enter their host, they can enter through broken skin, your nose or even your mouth. Then they will enter your body cells where they will remove their capsid ( outside layer ) and release their nucleic acid. The nucleic acid mixes up with the human cell so that the human cell starts reproducing the virus. The viruses then attack other human cells and the cycle continues. Viruses can't be cured by antibiotics but don't worry our bodies are very smart and are able to kill the virus all by themselves. When the white blood cells see a virus they 'call' the antibodies and they kill the viruses. Sometimes when you have a virus you can get a fever the high temperature kills off some of the virus so even though it might not feel like it is doing you any good it actually is. When you have a virus there isn't much you can do except for drinking lots of water, staying at home so you don't spread it and just relax.

FUNGI:
A fungi is one of any of the organisms that live by decomposing and absorbing the organic material that help them grow. This taxonomist group includes mushrooms, molds, mildews, smuts, rusts or yeast. You can contract a fungal disease by sharing things that belong to a person who has this disease such as socks, shoes, pools and public showers. You may also catch this disease because you simply came into contact with the disease. Fungal diseases are usually very easily cured because they don't regularly spread to underneath the skin; because of this curing a fungal infection can be as simply as going to your local medical clinic and getting a proscription filled for a fungal cream.
PROTISTA:
A Protista is an organism that is a part of the kingdom protist. This Kingdom is made up of mainly single-celled organisms such as Protozoa, simple algae and fungi just to name a few. Protests thrive in environments containg liquids especially oceans. Even though protists thrive in liquid environments, protists can still infect a human with a disease. Some common diseases that are caused by protests are Malaria, African sleeping sickness, Chagas disease, Amoebic dysentery, Giardiasis and Babesiosis. You can contract ( catch ) a protist disease through contaminated food or water, insect bites, or rodents. To cure the protist disease the treatment is antiprotozoal agents.
WORMS:
A worm is a disease that causes an organism that lives in or on a human or other animal to rely on the nutrients to from its host ( aka a parasite ). Thread worms are the most common type of wormsand they live in the intestines of humans. The female worms will lay eggs around the anus while you are asleep. The female worms only come out at night time resulting in this happening while you are asleep. While the female is producing eggs they also produce an itchy chemical that makes us humans scratch that area. Once you scratch that area the eggs that have just been produced stick on your fingertips and under your nails. So now whenever you now touch something you are allowing the worms to transfer to that object which can eventually lead to the worms being transferred into your mouth again or someone else's mouth. After this the cycle will continue. But you don't have to worry because among all this doom and gloom there is some good news, there is a treatment that you can have to rid yourself of the worms. The treatment of worms is aimed at getting rid of the paracites to stop re-invasion. You can stick to a very strict hygiene method or you can simply go to your local medical clinic and have the doctor proscibe you with some medicine.
